The 2010 Candidate Class Waits to Take the Toboggan Test

Some members of the 2011/2012 Candidate class receive instruction before hitting the slopes.

Lessons are planned and skills are reviewed before hitting the slopes!!

Ski Patrollers are taught procedures for loading the toboggan on the chairlift for transport up the hill.

Safety is one of the primary concerns during training and all Ski Patrol operations.  Tail ropers are used for all training exercises.
Communication between the toboggan handler and the tail roper is a key toboggan handling skill!

Snowboarders only make up a small percentage of the Ski Patrollers at Hidden Valley, but the numbers are growing!!

A look from inside the toboggan with a snowboarder in the handles!
